At the center of Julie's practice is a deep love of the creative process. Whether in the studio or the classroom, she approaches making with joy, curiosity, and enthusiasm. She believes creativity is meant to be explored, shared, and celebrated-and that spirit is evident in both her art and her teaching.

In her mixed media pieces, she draws inspiration from the vibrant colors and patterns found in nature, as well as the shared emotional landscape of the human experience. Hearts, birds, and houses frequently appear in her work-symbols of love, freedom, belonging, and home. These recurring motifs invite viewers to connect with their own memories and meanings.

Her ceramic work incorporates techniques such as scrafitto, underglaze transfers, and plant impressions, allowing layers of texture and imagery to emerge organically from the surface.
